Young people

There are a number of Bristol-based local services for younger people.

1625 Independent People

1625 Independent People supports 16-21 year olds and can support 22-24 year olds if they have complex needs or a strong preference for the service. The charity offers a variety of support, including housing support. The charity typically supports people with things like resettlement, prevention of homelessness, accessing more appropriate accommodation and other relevant issues which prevent them from becoming homeless. The charity also offers support with life skills, education, confidence-building, training and jobs.

Off the Record

Off the Record Bristol (OTR) is a mental health social movement by and for young people aged 11-25 living in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

OTR's free and confidential sessions explore mental health and wellbeing in diverse and creative ways, with art therapy, specialist LGBTQ+ groups, stress management workshops and nature-based projects available alongside one-to-one work such as counselling. 11 - 25 year old scan sign up to a range of groups, projects and services on OTR's website or at regular drop-in 'Hubs'.

OTR also provides information sessions for parents and professionals, along with specialist training covering a wide range of mental health topics under its enterprise arm 'Diffusion'.

The following organisations are available nationally.
