There are a variety of services in Bristol focused around LGBTQ support.

LGBT Bristol
LGBT Bristol works in partnership with Bristol City Council to empower lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people to become actively involved in community life. LGBT Bristol takes pride in challenging homophobia and transphobia in the wider community and help to promote understanding of equality and inclusion of LGBT people.

There are also a variety of national services focused around LGBT support.

Galop support lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer people who have had problems with the police or have questions about the criminal justice system. Galop is a completely independent community-led group.


PRISM is Bristol's free LGBT+ alcohol and drug support service run by the Bristol Drugs Project, PRISM was launched to respond to the barriers that have stopped people who identify as LGBT+ from accessing support that's right for them.

Terrence Higgins Trust

The Terrence Higgins Trust operate an out-reach only service in Bristol providing advice and support online, along with physical outreach in bars, clubs and public sex environments.

Bristol Student's Union

Bristol Student's Union LGBT+ Society supports, represents and brings together the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and plus students of Bristol University.

UWE Student's UnionĀ 

UWE Student's Union LGBT+ Society provides social activities for students across Bristol.

LGBT+ Helpine

LGBT+ Helpline provide free and confidential support and information to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities throughout the UK. Their helpine is available daily from 10am - 11pm.
