Sports Programme kicks off to a great start

Sports Programme five-a-sideBristol Mental Health's (BMH) Sports Programme has kicked off to a successful start, with a five-a-side football session. Staff from across BMH met at Horfield Leisure Centre this week and enjoyed a lively game, ending in a 16-12 score.

The Sports Programme has been developed by BMH's System Leadership Team (SLT) to improve staff health and wellbeing. It is funded by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust's 'Be Well' fund.

SLT polled staff in BMH to see what they would like to play and many voted for five-a-side. The trial football sessions will be running for another five weeks on Tuesday evenings, 6pm-7pm and all BMH staff are invited to sign up to play. SLT is exploring the possibility of holding netball and rounders leagues too.

If you are a member of staff at BMH and would like to take part in the five-a-side trial, please contact Lucy at lucymorgan2@nhs.net.
