'Sleep in' for St Mungo's

St Mungo's is encouraging you to spend some extra time in bed to help stop the scandal of people with mental ill health being stuck sleeping rough.

The 'Sleep in to Stop the Scandal' campaign runs from Sunday 15 May and involves you spending an extra hour in bed and reflecting on how lucky you are to have a safe place to sleep and recuperate. While doing so the charity is urging you to sign its open letter to Prime Minister David Cameron, which demands that he address the scandal of people with mental ill health being stuck sleeping rough on the streets. You can also share the campaign on email or social media using the hashtag #stopthescandal.

Jennean Alkadiri, Campaigns Manager for St Mungo's, says:  "... We're asking people to spend an extra hour in bed, enjoy the company of family, or simply tuck in to a good book. Most importantly, we want people to get online and sign our letter to the Prime Minster, helping St Mungo's to make a real difference to the lives of our most vulnerable."
