BMH offers mental health training to Jobcentre Plus staff

People in meetingBristol Mental Health's employment service has teamed up with Jobcentre Plus to offer mental health training to the organisation's work coaches. Throughout June, representatives from the service are attending meetings held for staff based at Jobcentre Plus sites throughout Bristol and in some areas of Yate, Clevedon and Bath.

During the meetings staff are offered advice on how to support clients with mental health needs to gain the skills they need as well as to help them find work. They are also given the information they need to signpost them to mental health services.

Dave Nichols, team leader in BMH's employment service, says: "We've attended three of the meetings so far and the feedback has been very good. People seem interested in learning more about mental health and the support we offer."
