New pioneering integrated health services start in Bristol
From today (1 October) Bristol will have a range of innovative
new mental health services, provided by a partnership of nearly 20
expert providers, being phased in.
Working under the banner of Bristol Mental Health will be a
broad range of services provided by organisations chosen by Bristol
Clinical Commissioning Group for their expertise and experience in
delivering high quality mental health care and support.
This is a significant day for the biggest CCG retendering
exercise which has redesigned services and selected organisations
to provide these new services. More than 1,000 people have been
involved in the consultation over plans for the new mental health
services, and more than 70 service users, carers, GPs and other
clinicians have been involved in designing the new services and
evaluating the bids for the services, which will cost around £25
million a year.
